Pro-life
Let me be clear and concise—I am pro-life.
Physical life begins at conception and ends at death. Keeping this truism to heart, no person could willingly move forward to end a human life at any stage in the womb any more than taking the life of another outside the womb.
God has bestowed the miracle of life upon us, and the Bible makes clear any number of times that His gift is to be ever uplifted and never rejected.
To call it a “choice” whether to cherish or trash a life in-utero is to greatly undermine the value of God’s gift. Deciding which television show to watch is making a choice; deliberating on whether to terminate a human being is NOT. Abortion is not a matter of choice but a matter of a child. Those trying to convince themselves that a fetus is not a child but simply a choice would find clarity in turning the tables: what if young children were suddenly granted “the right” to end the life of adults?
Preposterous? Specious? Unthinkable?
Precisely.
Abortion runs contrary to my training as a medical professional, goes against my instincts as a mother, and is sacrilegious to my Christian beliefs.
As an E.R. doctor, wife and adoptive mother concerned about the nation’s future for our children and those yet to be born, I will fight to make adoption easier to help more pregnant women commit to giving birth.
